Our Time At Scotland's Trade Fair 2025

Project Millport - Isle Of Cumbrae

At the start of 2024 we started working on our first big project called "Project Millport"....for those who follow our social media you would have seen the process and final products available on the isle. Our Millport mile challenge and various other products are available at "Isle of Cumbrae Soaps" store on Millport.

Amanda Stewart  - The owner of the Isle of Cumbrae Soaps store is a known friend of my mother and I from work events. We went for a trip to the Isle of Cumbrae (MIllport) earlier in the year to discuss this project and to get some inspiration of the small town while exploring tourist areas. Back at my studio I sketched some ideas and got in touch with Amanda to review the progress.

The main attraction in this small town is a famous rock known as "Crocodile Rock"... no, not after Elton John... But because the original painter back in 1914 thought it looked like a crocodile and painted features on it, which has became a beloved symbol of Millport's creativity since.

The main product I came up with and Illustrated is the Millport Mile challenge. Which is a perfect family fun activity to do whilst you visit Millport!...This activity book contains a challenge based on locations around Millport you can easily walk to, including fun facts about the place and quiz's / Puzzles / colouring pages to keep your little ones busy. Back to the main attraction - Crocodile Rock, besides the activity book I have also illustrated and produced notepads, bookmarks, badges and last but not least a Crocodile Rock enamel pin.

This Project was very fun to work on and Amanda's store on Millport alone has some lovely gifts to give to friends & family or even treat yourself. You can find all of the " Project Millport " products ONLY available in her store on Millport - you can get the ferry at Largs over to the Isle. Some of my own stock I sell online and at events can also be found there.

You can find a variety of Amanda's handmade soaps and candles - including My Illustrated Millport collection in this blog, over on her website or in store on Millport itself.  www.isleofcumbraesoaps.com

Thank you for following my journey!
